ABOUT FLEET SAFETY AWARDS

In 2022, MasterDrive launched the inaugural Fleet Safety Awards to great success. The Awards recognise fleet managers and companies for their dedication and hard work in promoting road safety in South Africa. More than 100 entries were submitted which culminated in the awarding of the first Best Fleet Manager and the first Best Company Award.

In the second year of the Fleet Safety Awards, MasterDrive is adding new categories and opening the Awards up to a wider variety of individuals and fleets. Through interaction with judges, nominees, winners, companies and attendees combined with the support the Awards receive, the time was right to take the Awards to even greater heights.

Similar types of vehicles will now be analysed according to their unique requirements and challenges. Differentiating the vehicle classes and considering one group against like-minded competitors will further improve the quality, value and level of the Fleet Safety Awards.

The Categories

A number of new categories have been added in addition to Best Fleet Manager and Best Company.

A manager that exhibits qualities of a person committed to building a fleet that prioritises road safety. Their implementation of company policies and strategies is centred around creating safer roads and a safe working environment for each member of their fleet.

An organisation that illustrates their promotion of road safety in the fleet policies and strategies implemented within their fleet and through the creation of a company ethos of road safety.

Traditionally, a road warrior is someone who travels for business frequently and who does much of their work on while, or in between, their travels. Entrants need to meet this requirement and also display a commitment to being a safe driver who plays their role in creating safer roads in South Africa.

If you have entered one of the first three categories, a member of a fleet can nominate their employer for their efforts in investing in their safety on the roads.

Specifically designed for entrants of one of the first three categories and drivers of HCVs. They can put forward their nomination of the best truck stop that provides for their needs as long-haul drivers.
