Corporate/Group Programs
Studies have shown that fleet driver training courses can significantly reduce the incidence of crashes in a vehicle fleet. Being trained in defensive driving techniques gives drivers the edge over others and reduces the chance of being involved in a crash . We run a selection of fleet driver training or defensive driving courses for drivers of most classes of company and passenger vehicles throughout SA and provide tailored services to cover fleet driver training for all sizes of fleet.

The objective of MasterDrive is to help our customers achieve reductions in their fleet accident rates an objective we have been highly successful in. Masterdrive has worked and continues to work closely with many companies in the overall design of their fleet safety programs. In the implementation of these programs, our primary role is the provision of behind-the-wheel driver training.

The overall purpose of the MasterDrive Advanced Driving Course is to give drivers a new set of skills which will greatly improve their ability to:
  • Anticipate and recognize potential hazards on the road.
  • React in a manner which will mitigate the effects of such hazards.
  • Take the right action to avoid an accident.
  • Maintain control of their vehicle in potential skidding situations. We teach these skills through a series of planned driving exercises, supplemented by relatively brief classroom sessions.
The course is delivered in one day during which we work on anticipation and recognition skills with the objective of giving drivers an additional second of time to deal with a potential problem. Studies have shown that this "one-second advantage" can prevent as much as 90% of all crashes .

An additional course which is recommended as an extension to the Defensive Driving course deals with vehicle control. An important segment is devoted to skid control, and one of the afternoon highlights is a session in which all the disciplines are combined in a Gymkhana event ..At the end of the day the students have dealt successfully with a series of challenging situations. Many say they have learned more about driving and accident avoidance in one day with us than they have in all their years of driving. A great opportunity for newly acquired skills to be demonstrated to friends and colleagues

The favorable reactions of our students have been consistently confirmed by studies showing very significant reductions in clients' accident rates. All demonstrations are done in Skidpan vehicles but drivers take the course using their own vehicles. The benefits being immediately apparent when differentiating between a front wheel and rear wheel drive derivitives
